Lonesome Larry Williams was the founder and creator of The Whip Radio. The station started in 1996 in Farmer City, IL at 98.3 FM on the dial. His American Roots music format of blues, rock, country, bluegrass and gospel was embraced by Champaign-Urbana and Bloomington-Normal audiences and all the small town and rural areas in between despite the weak transmitter signal.

Larry sold his beloved 98.3 FM station in 2014 but his format lives on online at The Whip at backlandradio.com. Please join us in remembering Larry on April 14.
